On behalf of the board of directors, staff and residents of Project Interconnections, I would like to thank everyone who attended our Annual Fundraiser and Silent Auction.
I am happy to report that we had a successful event in mid-May and we raised over $55,000.
Rosalynn Carter, Mayor Kasim Reed and Senator Jason Carter spoke at the event to over 200 attendees. Several of our residents attended and enjoyed the festivities – which included live music from Joseph Hill (a former resident) and viewing the art and jewelry designed and created by our residents.
Special recognition was given to the Northside Chapter of NAMI. Susie Kyle accepted a plaque from our Board Chair, Cliff Altekruse, who thanked members of the group for their contribution to our organization. NAMI has become a committed partner and friend to PII. They officially “adopted” Rosalynn Apartments. Members of NAMI Northside have kept the food pantry stocked at Rosalynn Apartments, as well as provided a constant supply of toiletry products for our residents at all our projects.
Our four communities are the result of public and private sector efforts to provide housing and support services for the mentally-ill homeless, including the payment by our working residents of 30% of their income for their rent. Contributions from friends like you have been a key element in founding and sustaining this work for over 20 years.
If you would like to make a donation to our organization, please click on the PayPal button. All contributions are welcome and appreciated.
Enjoy these photos of our event – we look forward to seeing you next year.
